Pici was founded by an Italian food enthusiast looking to enter the home cooking delivery kit industry. Inspired by a love of quality ingredients and Italy’s cafe scene, the owner wanted branding that captured the understated nature of some of the best ‘hidden gem’ Italian restaurants – the ones that look unassuming but serve incredible dishes.
The branding I created references the charming mismatch of textures, patterns and colours that you’d see in such restaurants. It has a deliberate DIY feel to it as a nod to their homemade produce. This is paired with characterful copy and a friendly tone of voice, mirroring the sociable vibe of little street cafes. Both aspects are intentionally fuss-free to allow the company to create their own lo-fi content with minimal effort.
